This Nomos watch is fab - absolutely what I'd love in a Mod watch ... understated but elegant and precise. Rather like the rest of my look...
Compared to the Nomos online shop, 300 smackers is a bargain!

Couple of decent ones here. I like the wide, minimalist style (as always).
One of these days I'll shut up and buy one. But for now, I'm going to stare. Update: These watches are about £15,000 each. Scratch that. 1. It’s a bit busy for me. It’s a Breitling and I love their adverts and it probably glows in the dark, but far too many digits and dials for me.
2. Nice and open watch face, two dials and a quite elegant style of font for the numbers. It’s quite wide, which I’m not usually keen on, but I’d probably get this one. 3. Again, as this one is essentially a brown version of 2, I am in favour. I prefer it in brown, it goes well with blue that is usually my default colour. 4. I’m a big fan of this one - practically minimal detailing, although it still has a few dials and the strap is a bit weird at the top. I also quite like the slender watch hands in blue, a strong look. 5. Definitely one I wouldn’t go for. Bulky, fabric strap and just a mess on the watch face. It also appears to have a compass built in which is another pointless extra. My brother would probably love it. 6. This is ridiculous. When did square watch faces become a thing? 1. Extremely plain here, but with an extra dial. I'm not sure about it - looking at the watch face gives me the creeps. A bit too clinical for me.
2. Nice, with a healthy dose of dials and switches on the side too. Dark watch face is a nice contrast to usual and the numbers are written in a good smooth font. I could probably get this. 3. Not usually a huge fan of metal straps and it has a fair few dials on the face. Probably less than likely for me. 4. Sorry but this is just a bit too clinical for me. Plus… black and gold? Straddling that balance between bling and minimalist. 5. Another minimalist. This one is slightly more attracting without the in-your-face gold effect, but the colour scheme of the watch face doesn’t make telling the time at speed very easy. Seems illogical. 6. This is a good balance between clarity and tidiness. Bold, but not huge numbers, clear hands and no additional dials cluttering up the face.. ere to edit. I can't seem to find this on the website, so I can't give you a place to get it. The price is a ludicrous £649 apparently. But then, as I said, this could be rumour.
But it's nice - classic simple face without extra "sports" dials etc. and a smooth finish without looking too bulky. 1. Pretty sound navy jumper from the new PG season.
2. One of the stronger numbers from PG’s new season. 3. Always wanted a pair of these. I also know a discount shoe shop near where I work. Anything off that hefty £185 price tag has got to be welcome. 4. Variation on a red, white and blue watch strap I already have. 5. I know we’re moving towards the warmer months but you’ve got to keep stocked up. 6. This one is definitely a wish - PG are moving on from their last season and this lot are sold out… Will they ever be seen again? 7. Again, one of the stronger numbers from PG’s new season. 8. I’m going to keep putting it on my list until I've got one… A strong selection from Timex.
What would be great is if they allowed you to buy one watch with a variety of straps that could be interchanged pretty easily. That would be sound. |
