They’re a traditional English gentleman’s shoe certainly, but if you ditch the country tweed and trade in the silly hats for a decent button-down and jeans, you’ve got the makings of a strong modern, but also Mod, look. The nod to tradition with a modern casual style.
I get the idea of retro or vintage, but I think the key to Mod is avoiding either of these two labels and I think you can’t go wrong with oxblood brogues, especially with a leather sole.
